Founded in 1995, the Medical Association of Billers is the premier training and credentialing association for medical billing and coding. The MAB curriculum has been approved and licensed by the Commission for Post Secondary Education and MAB is an approved vendor for Federal agencies.
MAB is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the development of medical billing and coding programs which are centered on the principles of encouragement, excellence, integrity, and service. To accomplish this Mission, they seek to achieve a balance among instructional development, teaching and service. They work to provide leadership in partnership with medical communities throughout the country and participate in efforts to create and promote relevant standards and develop relationships with organizations pursuing similar goals.

Nationally Recognized Credentials
The Certified Medical Billing Specialist® credential is the oldest billing and coding certification in the country.  It is administered through the Medical Association of Billers (MAB) and adheres to the strict guidelines of the State of Nevada Commission on Post Secondary Education (CPE).

New Certification
For the past 20 years the Medical Association of Billers has brought you the Certified Medical Billing Specialist® (CMBSTM) certification.  Some of our proctor partners have asked for a certification encompassing medical billing and no coding for individuals new to medical billing.  For this reason we have created the Certified Medical Records Technician® (CMRTTM) certification.  Read more on the certification page.
