Merrilee has over 25 years experience working with physician office practices. She is certified by AAPC for coding and ICD-10 proficiency and has two certifications for physician practice management. She founded the Tampa Bay Chapter of POMAA and served as President in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Merrilee was one of the first ever certified Medical Management Practitioners through The Center For Individual Excellence. She has been published and quoted in several articles, books, and audioconferences for healthcare publications including BC Advantage Magazine and has recorded several audioconferences, spoken for various groups including PriMed South, AAPC, POMAA, various medical societies and more. She has enjoyed working with and mentoring students entering the profession as part of their externships. She has held as many as four active positions on the advisory boards for local colleges as well as the editorial board for BC Advantage Magazine. "I believe that physician’s work hard for what they receive and should receive full reimbursement for what they do" is her motto. Helping her clients start their own practices, overhaul their existing practices, market their practice or add additional revenue streams to allow providers to regain their quality of life is her true passion. Her goal is to be able to provide her clients with the most up to date information possible and help them achieve their financial goals. She enjoys networking and learning from others.
Specialties: New practice development, accounts receivable review and recovery, credentialing,and educating providers and staff to interpret information from their practice management reports, assisting in transition to EMR or optimizing efficiency in EMR, and maximizing revenue thru compliance with risk adjust and HEDIS reporting.
