Mr. Bishop is a Certified Professional Coder through the AAPC with surgical specialty certification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and General Surgery. John has been an active Surgical Physician Assistant for the past 37 years.He is the President and CEO of John Bishop and Associates, LLC a surgical, medical and Coding, Auditing, Reimbursement and Compliance consulting company. John has also developed and published several Coding, Billing and Reimbursement manuals for Burns, Trauma, Wound Management and Plastic Surgery. Plus, he has contracted with several Universities and private, large multi-specialty groups as the Consultant Educator on Coding and Reimbursement. John has over 30 years experience being a leader, director and manager of many different disciplines, over 25+ years experience with Coding, Billing, Compliance and Reimbursement issues and over 20 years experience with Physician Practice Business Development and Provider education. He has also been an advocate for NonPhysician providers and a recent past President of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Mr. Bishop is the past Director of Coding at one of Florida's premier universities. John is very involved in teaching many Coding and Reimbursement seminars for Surgeons, Physicians and NonPhysician Provider groups nationwide. He is also a national expert for multi-specialty coding and reimbursement seminars for AAPC, Decision Health, The Coding Network, AHIMA and McVey Associates, Inc. He was just recently appointed to a 2-year term as the National Chairperson for the American Academy of Physician Assistants Reimbursement Work Group.
