I agree that Medisoft is the best choice.  But check out www.mbpros.com.  You don't have to buy the Medisoft software in order to use Medisoft.

It depends on what you want to do with your software.

Medisoft is good but I found that I had limitations with it. Mostly that general notes couldn't be posted on accounts unless they were specially tied to one DOS/charge. It was crucial as we were in an office that had staff shifts and post-it notes weren't good enough etc.

Also support for Medisoft is expensive and the resource books out there are dated and not really practical beyond the basic.

Good luck on choosing your software. Just think what you really need to do with it first and go from there.

Research you software.  Look at your needs.  Medisoft is everyone's cheap resort and it is limited.  Ask yourself what you need and do they have really good technical support.  I know of doctors that have that great product and they do not like the support they do not get.  Timeliness is very important when you need help.  Check and ask questions.

I use Claimgear it's very affordable and FREE tech support, updates and upgrades.  I've been using the software since Oct 2004 and love it.  It gives excellent reports and their tech support is fast and helpful.

I network with my clients because it's online and easy to access anywhere.

Yes when you buy their software it is FREE tech support, free upgrades and updates.  I got tired of paying so much for software when all softwares love making money off of updates.  And tech support can be around $99-$150 per hour and they are horrible.  Claimgear got back to me with in 24 hours and you can email them right through the software.

I encourage you to take a look at our products, as our entry level pricing starts at $49/month/provider, including training, EDI set-up, ERA set-up and reporting.  Take a look at www.kareo.com.
