Medical Coding at Home

August 16, 2006 @ 4:32 PM Reply  |  Email Friend   |  |Print  |  Top

I am looking for medical coding work from home. I have been certified for two years in medical coding and have medical billing experience for about 19 years. If anyone can help me out and tell me how to find someone that needs medical coding and would not mind it being from home that would be great.

Medical Coding isn't usually a profession that you can build a home-based business on.  Medical billing, on the other hand, is.

Most medical coders work within either a physician's office or hospital.

I know there is not much call for it but around the area I am in there is a company that does do coding and they are not in a hospital or physicians office setting. The third party billing company I work for had them do the coding until I became certified, now I do it. I also have someone that might want my services as a coder and it is another third party billing company. So you are right there isn't really too many businesses out there that are home based with coders but I think there are a few some where. I am actually looking to start billing at home also. I have been in that field for 17 years now. I just thought it would be easier to start coding then get myself into billing next.

Try this can send them your resume electronically and they will get back to you.  It took them about a week to get in touch with me once I sent in my resume.  they are hiring at home medical coders.

Good luck.

I went to the website and sent my resume to all the jobs they have open but some of those jobs are ongoing until January some before so I have not heard from them at all. I am hoping when they close on the date they have it open until I will hear back but until then I have heard nothing. It can't hurt to try the website though.
