Audra, I think the USA actually ran the BETA test for ICD-10 or an older version "down under". Which is great for any US billers/Coders heading down there. Pay rates are a lot more in Asutralia, than in the USA also.

But I have heard that its very expensive to live in Australia. Even with the higher pay rates.

Is this so?

Mike, Yes it's getting a little expensive in Australia now.

Can of Coke, 12 oz in a vending machine is like $2.00 AUS 0r $1.60 US.

Average house in Sydney is over $500,000 Aus or $400,000 US.

But the country and people are amazing. I know qantas has some really cheap flights to Australia from L.A. - Only a 14 hour flight!!!!! HA!

If you can get a job for say $55,000 Aus in Sydney you can have a fun time there.

I have family down there and also lived there a few times over the years. Let me know if you need any more info on OZ and I would be glad to help....
