You sure you want to take the CPC exam?

You seem to want the coding community to do your coding for you.

BTW, Funisitis is Inflammation of the umbilical cord

Try looking up 762.6

Does your doctor or employer know you dont know how to code?

Hi
I AM SORRY, I should have given the full text !!!!!!!!!!!

My full text of the question is -----

SPECIMEN:  Placenta and cord
Dx. Third trimester placenta with acute chorioamnionitis. Trivascular umbilical cord with acute funisitis.

U R 100% correct. I know then Ans is 762.8,  but  the Chapter 15: Newborn (Perinatal) Guidelines (760-779)  says They are NEVER FOR USE on the maternal record.

If so in this scenario  how this 762.8 is relevent????

I code this as 663.81 umbilical cord complication, complicating  labor and delivery.  Of course the 5th digit depends on the outcome.  Funisitis can take you to other areas, if you are using a coding program but you have to remember the object "umbilical cord" and what it is you are trying to convey.  I have been coding Pathology for 12 years now.  I love it, but wish I had more resources.  We subscribe to a great service.  Email me if you need more help
