Hi I'm wondering what is the big difference between the CCS certification & CPC ... I was told that they are pretty much the same and as far as the actual certificaton goes(actual diploma) they completely resemble one another.. is that true?.. is there somewhere where I can view this?..

There are 2 different professional bodies, who conduct these 2 exams. AHIMA conducts the CCS and AAPC conducts the CPC. My understand is that the format of the exam may be different but the content is very similar.

Hope this helps....

I am a CPC-H and studying for the CCS now..I work with other CCS.
I think the CCS is better for the hospital coders.  The CPC is good for the physician coding.  CCS seems a bit more of a challenge so far.  I have to say I didn't pass the CPC-H part two the first time around.  I think I stressed myself out just getting there.  Hope this sheds a little light for you.
