I was wondering if anybody knows a coding refresher course that is available on-line? I took the CCS exam last May and did not pass. I am wanting to take it again but it has been since Dec '04 since I completed my coding course and don't do any coding in my job now. I don't want to spend the money again just to fail again. I am limited on funds as my employer will not cover my test so it comes out of my pocket. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Order a study guide from American Academy of Professional Coders.

I have been working in the medical field for over 30 years and hold a certification in medical coding.  I have taught students the subjects of medical billing, medical coding and medical terminology at career schools and in the private setting for many years.

I teach introduction classes and specialty coding classes.  Please take the time to review the following links below to learn the field of medical coding and billing or to brush up on your skills.  The classes are reasonably priced.

Hope to see you in class!

Sincerely,

Diana Wilson, CPC

Just remember, if you are looking to pass the CCS, I don't think (not sure) the AAPC book is focused on the CCS (which includes DRG information).  Might want to look at AHIMA's resources for CCS prep.  Check out AHIMA.org

Hi, check out www.tools4coding.com for CCS information.  I lead an AHIMA- member CCS study group and lots of the resources we use are on my website also.

I attended school like 8 yrs ago for medical billing and coding and I am about to move to Texas where I hear the field is pretty good. How can I get prepared for the exam?
