Our office is getting more and more patients needing medical care, but who are without insurance.  We are in the process of developing a policy dealing with these patients, and I would sure be interested in hearing how other offices are dealing with this trend.  Thanks

When the patient makes an appointment, they are notified that they will be required to make a $200 deposit at the time of registration (and make it clear that this is a deposit) ; final bill may be more or less.  When a patient has had surgery we ask for 75% deposit  and will put them on a payment plan and if they ask if we give a discount if they pay in full, we give 25% discount but is only if they ask, we don't tell them at the beginning.  Hope this helps some
