I do the billing for our newly built ER department. I'm wondering when the coder is coding the EM services and Labs are preformed. Does she need to bill for all of the lab work that was done or is it all bundled into the EM service?  EX: 99283 along with 85014,85018,80047 etc.. Would the labs be included in the CPT 99283?

iFD YOU ARE BILLING FORYHR ed PROVIDER, YOU DON'T BILL FOR THE LABS.  cARRIERS DON'T AY FOR DIAGNOSIC TEST INTERPRETATION.

YOU CAN BILL FOR THE HOSPITAL IF THE TESTS WERE DONE IN THE HOSPITAL LAB.
