Coding Diagnoses in Patients Treated Successfully for Malignancy

The ultimate goal of cancer therapy to complete remove or eradicate a malignant tumor. Patients who no longer have signs of a malignancy may still require ongoing maintenance therapies related to the cancer or may need future care unrelated to the cancers. Providers need to know how to code the appropriate diagnosis code.

I know that I am predjudice because she is my daughter, BUT my 13 year old daughter just got home from school and read to me a poem that she wrote for my mother for Christmas. My mother has breast cancer...

Grammy: For a Fighter

The days are long, the sun is bright, there is nothing wrong within my sight.
I love you dearly, you love me back, don't worry about what you lack.
Your a fighter and thats what counts, you give me love in unconditional amounts.
You've done your job, you've paid your dues; it must be hard to fill your shoes.
You've given all that you could give, you've done your best and thats why we live.
Your a survivor and I'll hold on tighter.
Give me hope and I'll give you faith.
There is nothing else for me to say, you've got your rest, you've said goodnight theres nothing wrong within my sight.

FROM A BC Advantage Member
Hi everyone!  Well, I did it, I've registered for my very first Marathon for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  I'm not a runner, never have been!
Last year my father-in-law was diagnosed with Blood Cancer and underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant.  There were only two donors registered in the bank, ONE was a match and available for giving him a life saving transplant.  He survived the transplant and is currently still recovering and makes weekly visits to City of Hope for more therapy and treatments.
Thru this organization my father in law received many medications and treatments at the cost of $5,000 each, when his funds were completely depleted.  It was a hard year.  I decided the right thing to do would be to give something back to possibly help others who have been diagnosed with Blood Cancer, Lymphoma or Leukemia and need help also.  My father told me you won't get if you don't ask, so I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and asking everyone I know.
The personal goal to give The Society is $3,800.  $.75 out of every $1.00 goes directly to research and patient aide.  The link below is my personal website where you can make a contribution.  Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for your taxes.  Thank you so much!  I appreciate your help and thru this website you can keep track of my training progress.  (This should be most interesting.)
