Born in Germany but a US citizen for many years, Waegemann is considered an international leader in health informatics with a special interest in electronic patient record systems, standards, networking, telemedicine, mHealth, and the creation of the national information infrastructure. He is the most sought-after speaker on electronic health records, eHealth, and mHealth. In 2007, HealthLeaders Magazine named Waegemann as one of 20 People who make Healthcare Better. He gives interviews on eHealth and mHealth issues several times a month.
