I'm having a hard time deciding if this is the right career option for me. I'm currently enrolled in school and I'm having difficulty learning the basics of coding, although I just entered my first billing and coding class. I'm just looking for feedback.

It's a good career if you are suited to the work environment. You have to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You have to have attention to detail. When you are starting out, it's overwhelming the amount of stuff to learn and remember, but when you are actually coding, you'll have your areas to be responsible for and after you do it for a while it gets easier to remember what you need to. Good luck!

Original poster,

I feel that this profession is a good one if you want to feel like you are making a difference in the rapidly expanding areas of healthcare and the EHR, as well as health management.

Because of this expansion there is no shortage of positions and from the people I have talked to in the [profession currently, they all say they love what they do and feel like they are making a difference.

I am currently in school for my associates in HIMT. I love to see comments like this about this profession.
