It is difficult for someone interested in starting a new career in medical coding/billing to separate hype and marketing tactics from truth. This article seeks to explain what a good coding/billing program should contain and what to watch out for when seeking quality career education. 

Medical coding and billing is not a "get rich quick" type of career. Overzealous enrollment advisors at some unscrupulous schools sometimes make it sound like you can graduate and land a $30 an hour job the next day.  It simply doesn't happen that way. While medical coding and billing is a solid career choice, it takes training, hard work, and time to get experience to land the really high-paying jobs.
