ALERT - MACs to hold claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2021

ALERT - In anticipation of possible Congressional action to extend the 2% sequester reduction suspension, the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) have been requested to hold all claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2021, "for a short period without affecting providers' cash flow". CMS says this is being done to "minimize the volume of claims MACs must reprocess if Congress extends the suspension". MLN put out a Special Edition of their MLNConnects newsletter regarding this.

UPDATE -  The Senate did pass the bill extending the Medicare sequester cut pause on March 31st.  The House will take up the bill on April 13th.
